Titusville is located just east of Orlando Florida, Kissimmee and Disney by about 45 miles. It is just south of Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Edgewater, New Smyrna Beach, Oak Hill, Mims and just a few miles north of Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach, Sebastian Inlet and Melbourne. It is best known for NASA and the Kennedy Space Center. The Artemis Rocket as well. However it is also one of the best places here on the north Indian River Lagoon system and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge to catch redfish, seatrout, snook, black drum, shark and tarpon. Mosquito Lagoon Flats Fishing • Indian River fishing • Port Canaveral Fishing

The waters it borders are the north Indian River Lagoon and the famous Mosquito Lagoon to the east and southeast. Towards the west and Orlando is the St. Johns River, a large mouth bass fishing paradise, along with great winter and spring shad fishing trips for the avid fly fisherman. Located in Brevard County it has a population roughly of about 48,000 residents according to the 2020 census. There is plenty of things to do here including shopping, charter fishing, dining and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Flats Fishing Titusville Florida

The city of Titusville is a very special place to me. As a young boy back the early 1980's and late 1970's I used to stay with my grandparents here during the summer months and whenever I could get my parents to take me over here from Longwood to be able to go fishing. My grandfather Jake was a fanatic about fishing the surf in the Canaveral National Seashore for the whiting, blue fish, shark and pompano along with wade fishing the Indian River for the redfish, black drum and spotted seatrout.

At times there were the occasional night shrimping outing as well. Of course when we had shots at tarpon and snook that was always a plus. This was a catalyst that began my obsession for inshore saltwater flats fishing. A passion that still to this day I carry with me.
