The city of Oak Hill is located in southeast Volusia County just off of U.S. Highway One. It is located approximately ten miles south of New Smyrna Beach and just north of Titusville by about 20 minutes. It boarders the north end of the Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River, Canaveral National Seashore, NASA and the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. This city is the gateway to the redfish capital of the world, the Mosquito Lagoon. It is also my home where I live and reside on a year round basis. I proud to say that I fish these waters exclusively and no where else. The nice thing is it is also just one hour from Orlando and Disney.
Oak Hill is a very small town, under 1800 residents reside here full time. In the winter time many people come here from the north to stay through the cold months. It is rich in history, very country like and sets on some of the most beautiful sceneries Florida has to offer. Land and on the water. The most exciting part about Oak Hill is it sets on the Mosquito Lagoon. Living here is as close as you can get to some of the best inshore light tackle flats fishing central Florida has to offer. Oak Hill has an access to backcountry fishing that cannot be found any where else in central Florida.
Oak Hill is also the small town that Florida Inshore Fishing Charters and Captain Drew Cavanaugh are based in and reside.
