Today started out very cold; the temperatures were in the forties overnight with water temperatures in the fifties in the morning. By midday the water temperature had risen into the upper sixties and the redfish and seatrout bite had finally turned on. D.O. A. soft plastics were preferred over live bait. Fly fishing on the Mosquito Lagoon is still in the mix as well. When it is cold like this the north section by the Eldora flats is your best bet. It allows for great protection and some of the best fishing on the lagoon. This is why I love being an Orlando redfish guide.
Remember to handle all of your fish with extreme care. This will ensure when you release them they have a higher survival rate.
